Some Photos

I've uploaded some more photos taken over the last few weeks. I forgot to mention when I uploaded the Cromer ones that they, like these new ones, were taken with my camera phone. As much as the Sony Ericsson k800i sucks many kinds of balls, it takes great photos.
London Marathon - I had an hour to kill in London last weekend, and discovered that marathon day is a great time to visit. Major streets are closed to traffic allowing you to wander them without the threat of being mown down by a taxi. Sadly my battery died after just a few photos.
Stannage Edge - a few weeks back, I took a wander from Redmire to Stannage Edge with my parents.
Jane's 30th - I'm slightly hungover today, as last night was Jane's 30th. She had a punk themed party. I went as a punk. It was the obvious choice really. It was a lot of fun.
One other thing, I went to see Ricky Gervais at City Hall the other night and Tony had managed to procure some front row seats. He has a photo here.
UPDATE - Phil's punk party pictures are here.

Journal

You know what, it really is time that I finished off writing up my accounts of train travel to Shanghai and Syria and posted it online. So, all my writing at the moment is focussed on that rather than this blog. So other than the odd post here and there, the next month or so will be blog post light.
In the mean time, here is a splendid account of my work Christmas do. It is all true. Ryan changed the names to pretect people's identities. Sod that. The Big Dog = Phil. Wally = Matt. If you don't believe me, there is a video out there which no kind man would allow to be uploaded to the internet. Fortunatley, I'm not a kind man, so here it is.

Bole Hill Fireworks

Tim had a New Year's Eve party, and we piled over to Bole Hill to let off a bunch of fireworks. Shortly before, I set up my video camera in Tim's bedroom to capture the event. I'm glad I did that, because to be honest I was pretty drunk, and don't remember much about those fireworks, other than for the fact that I lit some of them. We started off with a "Bruce Lee", which is one of those single ignition boxes that set off a large number of shots. You can just make out Tim lighting the thing and then running away. This was followed by a load of individually lit rockets, which sadly went so high that the camera didn't capture them, and finally we had a load of sparklers.
The video is of course over at You Tube.
