A journey that I'll probably never get to do in my lifetime (but would love to) is to go the other way from Sheffield to Shanghai on a freighter ship. This would take me via New York and San Fransisco and in between pass through the Panama Canal. Check out this time-lapse video of a week of activity at some locks on the canal. It puts travelling on the Llangollen Canal in its place.
