Just seen it. It was alright. Some cool bits, some OK bits, some bad bits, some embarrisingly bad bits. Pretty much what you'd expect from Lucas. I did enjoy the fact that there was a group of 18 of us that went and through cunning use of UGC season passes and the Orange 2 for 1 Wednesday deal, we all got in for free. And now I'm going to download it just so I can watch it for free again, just to stick it to the man. Take that the man.
Frog Racing
In additional to the Digital SLR, I used my old film camera for the wedding, to get some grainy black and white shots in low light, using 3200 ASA film. Here's a shot of the Frog Racing championship.Wedding Photography
I did a brief course in photography when I first got into this hobby and one of the things we were told in the very first session was to never agree to photograph you friends' weddings. Well, I ignored that advice, and am pretty happy with the results, especially given my total lack of experience in this field. I think I only made one mistake which was to not put a fresh set of batteries in my flash part way through the day, not doing so resulted in a slow recycle time. I had no consequence as I got all the shots I wanted, but given the quantity of AA batteries I had on me, it was a silly. I've got a few hundred photos to sort through, plus a couple of rolls of film to get developed (yes film!), and will probably set-up a seperate site for them all rather than posting them to Flickr. It would be remiss of me though to not share the odd photo as I sift through them over the coming few weeks. For today, here's a couple of shots of the happy couple. Coming soon - Frog Racing, Dancing, Tree Climbing & more!Nick & Rach's Wedding
I'm tired. It was a long weekend and everyone had a great time. I took lots and lots of photos, and it's going to take a while to go through and edit them all. For the time being here is a picture of the place most of us stayed in - Reeds Hotel - set by a nature reserve in the shadow of the Humber Bridge.Sony PSP
Someone at work told me about a very interesting plugin for the Sony PSP the other day. There is this thing that monitors a folder on your computer for new video files. When one appears, it automatically converts the size to match the screen size of the PSP, and then synchs it with your PSP. So, for example, imagine that you lived in Edinburgh, and caught the train to Glasgow everyday; you could have Azureus automatically download the latest episode of say Family Guy, and upload it onto your PSP ready for you to watch on the train. How cool would that be? Very cool, that's how cool. And I've had a play on one too, they are rather fantastic.
So to sum up then, you should all buy a PSP.
Well done team.
Richard Herrings
Saw that Richard Herring at the Lescar on Thursday. His set largely comprised of stuff for his next Edinburgh show - Someone Likes Yoghurt. I thought it was brilliant, but to be honest there were a few people there were pretty perplexed, I think partly due to his antoginistic mood, and partly because at least 30 minutes of the set were devoted to the act of buying yoghurt. Two people sat next to me actually walked out. One of the cool things about Richard Herring is that you can read his own opinion of the gig on his own website.
Flickr Pro Account
I have a free Flickr Pro account to give away. I had two, but have offered one to The Hat as he's going travelling soon and would make good use of it. Anyone else interested that would make use of it?UPDATE - the account has been claimed by Tony Ruscoe.
Mini Blog
I come across a number of interesting, fun, clever, stupid links on my travels around the internet, but can never be arsed to blog them as it's too much effort. However, Friend Feed has aleviated nearly all of that hassle. So, subscribe to this feed and you'll get all the links that I think worthy of your attention. It will be just like old times, when this blog was nothing but a repository of links to other sites. Anything else I post on the internet, like new photos will also show up in the feed.
