A web site written for running geeks, by a running geek. Excellent. I found this site via
Engadget's review of the Garmin GPS watch. I think I will buy one of them to replace my existing GPS watch, which is a bag of cock in comparison. The thing I like about the Garmin is it's ability to export the route you ran as XML, allowing you to integrate with all manner of software, such as SVG route plotters. It's also comes with running journal software, which would neatly replace my Excel file which I'm all too bad at keeping up to date.
Personally, there is an extra step for this technology to go. You may have read about
this "laser" vision thing. Basically it uses "lasers" to shine data directly onto the retina of your eye. What I want is it to give me speed, distance, heart rate, calorie burning rate all there in front of me as I run,
Terminator style. I'd like to be able to plot my route before hand and have arrows appear floating in the air to point the way. I'd like it to automatically plot the shortest route home so I can avoid getting stuck in marsh land like I did on Sunday.
That would be cool.
